In short Elon isn’t being strange – Elon Musk is contemplating his fate, and he knows he’s screwed.
Hear me out.

Yes Elon Musk is a strange person; he always has been, always will be.
But this time it’s mainly because he’s losing what he hoped to gain.
Power and public affection – love and admiration for his misguided, underhanded, illegal deeds in the US government and he knows the Democratic party is gaining ground, but more importantly his businesses are falling apart and his reputation is in the trash – as one user stated
“Elon Musk is the last of a group of entitled South Africans” he doesn’t take losing well.
and as Steve Bannon – “Elon craves attention” Well Elon craves worship and gratitude, and he doesn’t do very well negative feedback or criticism.
But what’s likely causing him to act strange is a combination of everything but the main two is the fact he’s losing money and the fact he might be facing legal troubles after the year 2026, so Elon Musk maybe second guessing his choices to side with Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans.
In truth he’s more worried and terrified than being strange, his plans to usurp the US government maybe at risk or if they in fact out right failed with major repercussions due to his attempt at a failed hostile takeover, even more so his attempts at buying elections may and will in fact – comeback to bite him – if the Democrats win the US primaries in 2026 and impeach Trump that same week, Elon is in deep doodoo, his companies and government contracts are all at risk, Democrats are likely to cancel every contract with Elon Musk killing Space X or giving it to NASA or a rival to Elon, canceling and likely banning Tesla products and working with Elon’s rivals.
So as I stated before Elon isn’t being strange he’s contemplating his fate and he knows he screwed up.
Okay this is from the perspective of a South African, who belongs to the same peer group, lives in the same city he went to school in. And has seen many wannabe’s like him.
Musk was the last of the “entitled” era of rich boys who could get away with just about anything because of money and parental connections… Afrikaans girls have a term for this type, “Hy is ‘n bombasiese doos.” (and I mention this because he always said the Afrikaans girls wanted nothing to do with him, and back then Pretoria was predominantly Afrikaans, Jo-burg English) Direct translation: “He is a obnoxious box” Well to an Afrikaner the word “doos” means something closer to asshole. Yet he is as empty inside as a box.
And like all of them no matter how much money they have, Afrikaans girls do not like someone who wants to be a spoiled frat boy. South African girls are not like American girls, money does not blind them to a person’s character…. and, here, you need someone with character or you will not make it.
Musk belongs to the era of boys who would go out to gay clubs on a Friday night and beat up the “patsies.” And if they got into trouble their fathers would deal with it. This taught Musk that as long as you had money and connections you can disrespect anyone and bully anyone (also that money buys temporary loyalty). But that was also the end of an era in South Africa, which is why Musk’s father packed him off to America (like so many from that era), “So dat hy a toekoms kan he.” Translation: so that he could have a future.
Musk has never in his life been held responsible for his actions, there was always a fall guy or some manner for him to worm his way out of it. Thus musk is still the teenage boy who would look out for himself, and make money anyway he can (using anyone he can) so that he can do what he wants. But this type of life eats your soul – not that I think he had a decent one to start with. In short he developed no character, no backbone and certainly no manners.
This concept of: I will be happy if I have ….. was a driving force behind him, while he failed to realize that happiness does not lie in things but lies in the rich layers you surround yourself with, the people you hold close to you and the experiences shared with them. But since most of his experiences at the moment are drug induced excursions, where he behaves like a twelve-year old shouting “look at me!” before jumping into a pool… The ship, on hoping he would learn from past experiences, has sailed.
Back to the drug induced excursions. Substance abuse, in all it forms, is a sign that there is something fundamentally lacking in that person’s life. The consumed substance makes them forget or “helps” them to avoid any inward reflection and (painful)growth. Thus he is still the twelve year old pulling girls’ pigtails and running away.
He grew up a racist, he has always gotten away with his antics, he bullied people who had nothing to do with him because he wanted to and could get away with it, he learnt that as long as you foot the bill you can have many “friends” and temporary loyalty can be bought…. but the lesson he really needs to learn is that you can get away with only so much before everyone turns on you….
And that America is the lesson you have to teach him now.
Elon Musk acts in a way similar to how my brother used to act. My brother was very socially-awkward due to having a long period of time in which he did not socialize outside of family. When he encountered someone he particularly liked, his friendship was more akin to a type of hero worship in which he would do all sorts of things in an effort to get approval from that person and, in social groups, to “fit in”. He eventually grew out of it, but that’s Elon Musk right now in a nutshell. Trump and MAGA have designated him as a rising star and Elon acts out in a desperate attempt to be perceived as “cool” to his newfound fans, to mixed results.
The drug use probably doesn’t help things, much, either.
EDIT 03/07/2025: If you’re going to comment claiming Elon Musk has autism, let me save you the trouble of being the umpteenth person to do so.
We have only Elon Musk’s word he has autism. I severely doubt he does, due to the following:
- Elon Musk doesn’t always tell the truth, especially about himself.
- Not every socially-awkward dweeb in a prestigious position has autism.
- Autism, especially Asperger’s Syndrome, is frequently self-diagnosed by individuals, not by medical personnel. Celebrities and VIPs often play the autism card to excuse their bad behavior.
- Elon Musk is not a genius or an inventor. He does not personally engineer any of his products, he took over Tesla from within as a majority shareholder, and the one model he helped make for Tesla is a truck that sells below expectations and looks like a six-year-old designed it.
- Elon Musk is not a biz wiz. Many of his businesses exist today only due to being bailed out repeatedly by government subsidies and contracts. He has better business acumen than Donald Trump, but that’s not saying much.
