
Well, let me tell you a little story I read about religion
“On a sunny Monday 2 girls are sitting in a park enjoying the sun and eating an ice cream.
Along comes a somber looking middle aged man looking disturbed.
They ask him why he is in this state. He replies:
‘My religion does not allow ice cream to be eaten on a Monday.’
They respond: ‘That is a shame for you.’
He replies: ‘I am upset that you do not follow the rules of my religion.’
This essentially sums up your problem. You assume that just because you follow the rules of a religion, the same rules apply to everyone else, even if they are NOT part of YOUR religion.
Stick to your own rule set and leave the rest of us alone.
True story:
Muslims come to the UK on business. They stay in hotels. In those hotels they see pork being served and smell bacon being cooked. There are also people drinking wine in the restaurants.
So, some guy came up with the idea of a hotel for these visitors. No alcohol, no pork. Sadly, the venture was a failure.
Why? Because it turns out that, just like people of other religions (and no religion) the businessmen enjoyed going abroad to a place where they could enjoy these pleasures without being frowned upon. After all, in the end, these so-called “laws” are ridiculous, founded on some ancient customs.
Billions of people worldwide love eating pork, . There’s nothing wrong with it.
Now I feel hungry and it’s almost lunchtime here in Spain, where aged Iberian jamon is a national delicacy, so maybe…
