None of us know
That’s because all news from Libya came to us Indians through either the BBC or through Reuters
Gadaffi was great friends with the Britishers in the 1960s and 1970s and BBC painted a positive view of Libya

Many Indians worked in the Oil Industry and lived good lives under Gadaffi
We Indians read positive news about Gadaffi all the time thanks to the extremely Pro Arab INC and All India Radio
Tripoli and Benghazi were good cities and seventh and eighth cities for Indians to go to work after Aden, Riyadh, Bahrain, Baghdad, Tehran and Tabriz
Then suddenly Gadaffi started becoming a villain
The News started portraying him as a Villain
It began after his supporting the PLO and PLA

Especially after the Entebbe Incident in 1976
Gadaffi soon became an arch villain in the American News under the Ronald Reagan administration with Menachem Begin in charge in Israel

Every second day some news would come of Gadaffi murdering someone or another

Fiction Writers like Forsyth wrote unverified nonsense plots on Gadaffi including his supporting the IRA
However Britain still kept their support of Gadaffi with Margaret Thatcher refusing to change her foreign policy to mirror the Americans

So between 1979–2005, Gadaffi remained mostly a sanctioned president whom the Americans wanted gone , because Israel wanted him gone but whom the British and Europeans liked
Back then Europeans like Schroeder, Merkel, Chirac were not like today’s prostitutes like Baerbock, Scholz, Sunak and Macron
They had spine and gumption and a lot of nationalism
Then Gadaffi did the unthinkable
He began to start pricing Libyan Oil under the Gold Standard and away from the Brent Price
He and Saddam Hussain agreed to this
Mysteriously Nuclear Weapons were rumoured to exist in Iraq and even the BBC began running stories against Gadaffi
All the way to his death
So it’s quite likely that Gadaffi didn’t do anything terrible and his entire bad book came from fake US Narratives
Especially now when many Libyans talk of the “Good days” when Gadaffi did so many good things for the people of Libya
He had been called a tyrant, a dictator, a terrorist and some other terrible names.
You know who he is, right? The popular and controversial African leader who was killed in a drainage canal in 2011.

Colonel Gaddafi led the country of Libya for more than four decades .
- He may have been a terrible leader , but a few articles I stumbled upon changed my perspective on this man. Sometimes we’re not told everything about a story;
- Libya’s GDP per capita in 2010 was 12064.8 USD. It was 7529 USD in 2018;
- Nursing mothers began receiving 5000 (US dollars) for themselves and the child.
- There were no electricity bills or the price was ridiculous;
- A house, farmland, live stock and seeds were given free of charge to those who wanted to start farming;
- Education and medical treatment were absolutely free ;
- Generous subsidies were given for weddings, housing and car purchases. Now Libyans have to pay the full price for everything;
- He built the largest irrigation system in the world recognized as “the eighth wonder of the world” its purpose was to provide water to all Libyans throughout the country;
- His last words to his killers were ” What have I done to you ?”

Was he really a terrible leader or were people/governments outside tired of him?
