Hitler walking with Helga Goebbels in 1936. Cervantes

Hitler was very fond of the Goebbels children. Helga was his favorite. But his actions would lead to the death of all of them.
Magda Goebbels became convinced of the necessity of ending not only her life, but also that of her children. She ignored all offers to rescue her children.
Magda decided to stun them first with morphine. After they were unconscious, she would finish them off by crushing cyanide capsules between her teeth.
Only one day after Hitler’s suicide, on April 30, 1945, Magda, with the help of an SS doctor, administered morphine to her children and then killed them with cyanide. A few hours after her children’s deaths, she and her husband, Joseph Goebbels, committed suicide.
But the story doesn’t end there. The most horrific death of the Goebbels children was that of Hitler’s favorite, Helga. It seems that the morphine she was given did not render her unconscious, or at least did not put her to sleep for long. At a certain point Helga realized that her siblings were being killed by crushing cyanide capsules between their teeth. Not wanting to die, she opposed them doing the same to her.
Helga’s final moments were spent in a terrible struggle, as her mother and an SS member forced cyanide into her mouth. An autopsy conducted after the bunker was captured and photographs of her face later showed severe bruising. It also appears that her jaw was broken during the struggle to force the cyanide into her mouth.
