Stealing?
You go on the TEMU site and see a fantastic pocket flashlight made in China you want. You pay for it and the flashlight arrives on your door step a few days later. You paid and they sent the flashlight.
You go on Amazon and see a really nice pair of shoes made in Vietnam and you pay for those shoes and they arrive on your doorstep a few days later. You paid and they sent the shoes.
You go into Walmart in the USA and spot a kitchen gadget (made in China) you’ve never seen before. You buy it and take it home. You pay for it and you get the gadget.
Tell me where the “stealing” bit comes in.
Perhaps you are thinking “that’s so cheap it’s a steal”. In that case, it’s YOU doing the stealing, not China which is willing to sell gadgets at such a low price via Walmart.
Trumps tariffs get added to the cost YOU pay for those goods, so they now cost you more. You could argue that Trump is stealing some of your money to fill the government coffers. That’s so he can offer bigger income and business tax cuts to his rich buddies and himself.
But that’s all internal in the USA, nothing to do with a foreign country paying the USA, because they don’t!
Dear foreign countries are not paying the US tariffs. One nation cannot tax another nation. Americans pay all tariffs that are put in place by the US government.
A tariff is charged when a product enters the US at customs. The company IMPORTING the goods pays the tariffs. Then the importing company passes it on to wholesalers who pass it on to retailer who pass it on to the retail customer. YOU will pay the tariff on anything you buy that is tariffed. That can literally be anything imported.
Want to explain why you think other countries were stealing from the US? You just believed what trump said. Never a wise thing to do. No nations have been stealing from us.
You sound like a person who believes what Trump says not reality. Reality exists.
Anyone so far down the rabbit hole that believes anyone who is not a Trump supporter must be a traitor. is likely to believe just about anything. Have you ever read the US Constitution. It defines what a traitor is and it is NOT disagreeing with Trump. Read it sometime.
I am an independent, I own a business that moved it’s manufacturing to Canada from the US when Trump put a tariff on a specialty steel my company uses in making my product. It meant my product could not compete internationally.
So my US customers pay the tariff the ones I sell to other nations do not.. During the time my company was moving to Canada I had to pay 25% more for that steel, which is not made in the US for 14 months my company operated at a loss because my costs increased due to that tariff. That money came out of MY pocket.
Yup I know how tariffs work. You don’t. Operating at a loss is not a long term strategy for running a business. I note over 2,000 other US manufacturing plants moved from the US as well for the same reason. Taking jobs with them.
I gather you also never took an economics course.
Read the Constitution before you throw around the word traitor, you d not know what it means. BTW I am an independent. I read the Constitution and understand it. I also understand how tariffs work. I would advise you to look them up and figure them out because you do not understand tariffs.
