As the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived for the G7 meeting to Canada, that’s how Canadians met him: right a meter-long Ted carpet, right into the pool of water.
Canadians are furious with the U.S.
The betrayal by an ally is always so much more infuriating than an attack by a known enemy.
Trump began thrashing Canada and talking about acquiring Greenland already before his Jan. 2025 inauguration. Although he never mentioned these goals during his election campaign. He didn’t mention cozying up to Putin and partnering with Russia either.
But now, Trump is pumping MAGA with expansionist propaganda, while promising he would cancel all taxes for those who earn less than $150,000 per year — get it now: it will never happen.
That’s another impossible to fulfill promise, like “making grocery prices cheaper on the first day he’s inaugurated”.
Canceling taxes is impossible, but that’s what Trump intends to use to halt his rapid sliding in polls.
Regarding what happens if Trump orders the U.S. military to invade Canada, don’t count on them to not fulfill the order.
During the course of history, this hope has always been proven wrong.
- 1939: Hitler isn’t going to invade Poland. That’s crazy! Germans won’t support it.
- 2014: Putin isn’t going to invade Ukraine. That’s crazy! Russians won’t support it.
- 2025: Trump isn’t going to invade Canada and Greenland. That’s crazy! Americans won’t support it.
When Putin commanded the Russian troops to invade Ukraine in February 2022, the regular soldiers had no idea what was happening. They were just told by their commanders to get in tanks and start driving. The soldiers were on training exercises near the Ukrainian border for weeks before that.
Putin invaded Crimea in a swift operation using special forces. The corrupt Ukrainian president Yanukovich (who after that ran to Russia) didn’t give an order to the Ukrainian military to fight back.
After Trump surrenders Ukraine to Putin, Trump can simply “borrow” Russian militants to invade Canada. Or help in the invasion.
Any such rhetorics is ought to be taken seriously.
Because when a president of a country with the strongest military says it, it’s serious.
Trump will make a move on Canada and demand surrender, like Putin did in December 2021 — 2 months before invading Ukraine.
It’s absolutely obvious from everything that Trump does and says.
Trump: “To be honest with you, Canada only works as a state. We don’t need anything they have. As a state it would be one of the great states. This would be the most incredible country visually. If you look at a map, they drew an artificial line right through it.” (Video in the comments below.)
Remember what Trump began his term from.
He is serious.
He is already waging a trade war against Canada. Trade war is an act of hybrid war.
And so is propaganda.
Trump already began the preparation to invade Canada.
Most likely: The US Military generals and US Congress would refuse Trumps order and order a Section 25 (?) (insanity or unfit) removal of Trump from office.
If they didn’t do that:
Millions of Canadians would fight to the death to protect our country. We would cut the throats of any American or collaborators who tried to take our land. First Nations people’s would warrior up to defend their lands and the minerals in them. We would quickly take our abundant Uranium and covert it to weapons grade nukes or dirty bombs. Acts of military insurgency against Washington and New York would break out. We would convince citizens and militias around the USA to engage in the 2nd American civil war. As a NATO ally we would enlist the protection of the EU to start a conventional attack on invading USA forces. If that didn’t work we would convince nuclear powers France and the UK to target USA cities in a nuclear exchange. Hundreds of millions of North Americans and Europeans would die within the week. The world would be poisoned w nuclear radiation and billions more would die.
Seriously, USA, stay the fuck outta Canada. We will NEVER be the 51st state.
I suspect there would be some level of mutiny in the US Armed forces.
Some of the US Armed forces took their oath to the CONSTITUTION seriously to defend it against all threats foreign and domestic.
Some in the US Armed forces also know the rules and regulations (as they currently stand) in regards to not following an unconstitutional or unjust order.
Some also know that “I was just following orders” was not a defense in the Nuremberg Trials and wouldn’t be in this situation as well.
The Canadian military branches would prepare and act accordingly, and most likely with far more consistency, efficiency, and organization than the US Military would be able to.
NATO and the Commonwealth Canada is part of would scramble to assist Canada in their defense of their sovereign nation.
The US, under 47, has lost all the benefits of NATO and lost its allies. The US would stand alone in this battle.
47 and his mindless minions seem to think soldiers in the military are nothing more than mindless, soulless drones they can order about and do as they please with. They don’t see soldiers as living, thinking human beings. So they seem to assume they could issue such an order and those soldiers will blindly and obediently follow those orders like a robot.
Humans, including soldiers, aren’t robots or drones that do as they are ordered. If that was true things like court martials and AWOL wouldn’t exist.
