If Trump dies, will you be respectful?

Trump is 78, going on 79. He has the volatile temperment that could lead to a stroke, his diet is poor and he’s way overweight. That’s counterbalanced by his not smoking or drinking. He could leave the planet tomorrow or he could live to past 90.

I don’t wish death on anyone, and in Trump’s case, his replacement, Vance, would probably be worse.

But respect? I wouldn’t throw tomatoes or rotten eggs at his funeral cortege and I wouldn’t pee on his coffin.

But respect for him as a human being, as a politician, and as leader of my country? No. He’s caused substantial damage to our political process, he’s maintained the biggest lie in Ameroican political history in maintaining that Biden won by fraud, and he’s innocent of any understanding of history or the necessity fordiplomacy—his operating style is ‘my way or the highway.’

And now he has four more years to make things even worse. He deserves condemnation and derision, not respect.

When my mom died, I held a “Celebration of Life” that included a performance by her dance students. There were photos of her everywhere, and videos of her teaching her dance classes. The new dance studio was dedicated to her. She was a great woman and the event was full of love, and many, many speeches made by me, her stepson, grandson, and best friends and colleagues.

When dolt 45 dies (and that is a WHEN), who is going to speak about what a great person he was? His kids, I guess. He is a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Will I be respectful? I will watch whatever is broadcast and note who shows up. I respect whichever living presidents attend; Republicans and Democrats. That will tell me a lot.

Afterward, I will be thankful that he is gone. He has been nothing more than a cancer on our “democracy.” He has cost me friendships. He brought (or will bring) our country to the brink of being a theocracy, monarchy, and an authoritarian state. I will always hate him for this. He and his minions are using our Constitution as toilet paper. He IS an insurrectionist. These crimes will be forever written about the history of the United States.

No, I will NOT celebrate his life. I will Not be “respectful.” I will acknowledge his death, and move forward with whatever mess he’s left us to clean up. His death may not kill the brand of populist garbage that will still be a festering sores on the ass of our country.
