My uncle has an IQ of about 65. He “graduated” high school, aka social promotion. He has immersed himself in Fox News and Rush Limbaugh for 25 years. It’s very sad, but he’s not evil.
My brother has an English degree from a prestigious university. He rejects anthropogenic global warming. He embraces Ayn Randian economics. He calls Hillary Clinton a felon despite never even being charged with anything after hundreds of millions spent investigating.
He calls Bill Clinton a rapist despite Lewinski saying that she “fell in love with her boss” and before going to DC confided that she wanted to get her “presidential knee-pads.”
My brother rejects all info that disagrees with his racist, misogynist, xenophobic, anti-intellectual worldview. He works in a job that increases profits while spreading biased information. His work isn’t just useless; it is counterproductive. He goes to church.
He thinks himself an expert on anything he spends ten seconds on. He’s both an example of Dunning-Kruger and a narcissist. He pats himself on the back. He seems like a nice guy. He’s not.
What do I think of Trump voters? They are all some combination of stupid and evil. Above are extreme examples of stupid and evil.
I think that you are either:
- A typical American conservative.
- A libertarian type who dislikes Trump’s trade policies less than you dislike Democratic governance.
- Someone who supports a very strict immigration policy.
Whatever you are, you are in all likelihood a lot less bothered by things like this than I am.

This isn’t new. This is the man American conservatives chose as the leader of the party and their country. And by not distancing themselves from these comments—Few Republicans in Congress have criticized him—they are sending the loud and clear message that they don’t disagree.
Good to know.
