As an Australian, I would like to add an Australian’s perspective to this along with the British, German and Swedish view-points.
The way Trump has been treated is appalling. How has an obvious crook like Trump not been jailed yet?
EDIT: This is a post about Donald Trump. You can say you like him to you hate him. But any references to any other politician will be deleted as off topic.

I am proud to be a liberal like Gladstone and Thomas Jefferson. So you are not insulting me at all.
I am not stifling debate. Comments saying how wonderful Donald Trump is are welcome. Comments talking about other politicians are NOT. They are NOT debate on Donald Trump.
Well, this non-American certainly is. I’m not only appalled, I’m shocked, even horrified. Bear in mind we are dealing with a poor elderly man who only wants a bit of security in his later years. Only wants the guarantee of a roof over his head and some nice solid bars on his windows. But can he get them? No!
I mean he tried using his position as president to blackmail a foreign leader, but that didn’t get him arrested. He tried provoking an insurrection against the government – but was there even the slightest sign of some friendly handcuffs – no! Then when that didn’t work, he tried nicking a bunch of top-secret documents and then spent a year and a half refusing to give them back.
He even came up with the most mind-boggingly stupid defence in legal history, when he claimed to have declassified the documents with his magical mind powers, just to make it clear he didn’t have a legal leg to stand on. Yet, somehow, they still refuse to give him the cell he so desperately wants.
It’s just cruel. It’s clear that if poor Mr Trump is going to achieve his dream of a comfy retirement in a warm prison cell, he’s going to end up having to commit a truly horrendous, unforgivable crime – something like giving water to people standing in line to vote. That’ll certainly get the Republicans baying for his blood.
In any other country, he would have been in prison before he was even elected. When he called upon Russia to interfere in the 2016 election, he would have been interviewed by people with no sense of humour at all, and then jailed for treason, which in most countries doesn’t require that there’s a war on.
Failing that, he would have been in custody no later than the evening of January 6th, 2021, for inciting a coup attempt.
Most non-Americans are absolutely appalled that the vermin could even be elected to any public office at all.
Scotland here. I’m absolutely appalled that Trump’s not long since been put in jail for a multiplicity of crimes including sexual assault and fraud.
Had that happened on a timely basis, he’d never have been able to go on to commit treason, attempt a coup, incite an insurrection and steal top secret documents.
This utter waste of oxygen, is BFF with authoritarian communist dictators including Putin, Kim Jong Un and Bolsanaro.Yet he’s beloved by the Republican Party: how did that happen? What kompromat has Russia got on him?
He’s an adulterer including with porn stars, failed casino owner, racist and thug who doesn’t pay his bills or taxes (“render unto Caesar” and all that). Yet the evangelicals love him. Go figure.
He brings shame on America. He’s a danger to democracy in the USA and to stability in the entire world.
Yes I’m appalled at how he’s been mistreated. He should have been stopped a long time ago.
