It is very hard to take a dishonest person seriously.
And J.D. Vance is a ridiculously dishonest and opportunistic person. He is on record as saying that Trump “diagnoses real problems” but does so “without offering solutions”.
In an email to his friend Sofia Nelson before having a go as Trump’s running mate, Vance called Trump a “morally reprehensible human being”.

In a 2016 piece for The Atlantic called “Opioid of the Masses,” Vance described Trump as “cultural heroin,” arguing that he offers overly simplistic solutions to complex problems without really addressing or solving underlying issues.
He also stated in yet another interview how he “couldn’t stomach Trump”, going as far as to claim he considered voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016, finally deciding on a third party candidate as a better alternative to two candidates he saw as thoroughly unfit…
The Atlantic piece is particularly jarring to read, in retrospect — J.D. Vance, say of the man what you will, is actually a rather eloquent writer. He beautifully skewers Trumpism as some sort of collective drug addiction, America’s new “pain reliever”. And that’s what makes Vance so unlikable… the fact he’s clearly an intelligent man, smart enough to realize exactly how toxic Trump is and how little he stands for, and how he still cynically threw himself onto the bandwagon for political gain.

This caption deserves Pulitzer for one-liners.
JD Vance is unlikeable because he’s fake.
He’s not authentic.
He pretends to be everything he is not.
He became Catholic to join Opus Dei, the secretive prelature that Pope Francis was set to reform. He did is solely to advance his future political career.

The Pope died within hours of meeting Vance in April 2025, which scored Vance the infamy of bringing bad luck. (Immediately after visiting the Pope, Vance went to India — and a war between India and Pakistan began.)
In 2016, Vance was saying that he was “never Trump guy” and compared him to Hitler. He said he “never liked” Trump, because he never “tells the truth,” and doesn’t “care about folks.” Now, he’s Trump’s VP. What does it tell you about the guy?
Not only Vance has no strong beliefs, he has the charisma of a bowl of microwaved oats.
But he’s the 1st in line to the throne — and his curator Thiel with PalPay mafia are getting ready to pounce.
If Trump departs and Vance takes over, the GOP will be in state of civil war. Trump’s cult is built on grift and Project 2025 won’t give it up easily.

Remember how much Musk infuriated just about everyone in the White House, while he was hanging around?
Musk decided not to launch his “third political party” — instead, he decided to back up Vance. These guys know something we don’t.
The weird silence around Trump’s health status may be due to Project 2025 and the Dark Enlightenment negotiating.
Vance had to praise and support Trump, to remain in his good books.
It will be interesting to see him as president.
I wonder what MAGA will think?
Will they cool down on the MAGA idea — or will they still be as passionate, as long as they can “own the libs”?
