Has China surrendered in the trade war?

There is a saying in India

The Google of India is Google, The Facebook of India is Facebook , The Uber of India is Uber.

Flipkart had a chance to be the Amazon of India. The Crown Jewel. The internationally known Indian tech Unicorn. But no, they were bled by Amazon’s billions, purchased by Walmart and the founder heroes/role models of an entire generation of Indians were walked out the door unceremoniously within months of their acquisition.

This in a country where IT is supposed to be it’s strong suit and produced people like Google’s Sunder Pachai and Microsoft’s Satya Nadalla.

If not for better government policy things would be different.

Lets look at China.

The Americans have tried for decades but as of today

The Google of China is Baidu, The Facebook and WhatsApp of China are Tencent and Wechat and the Amazon of China is Alibaba. The Iphone of China is Xiaomi and Huawei. They are by far dominant leaders in the local market. This strength allows them to expand internationally as well. The Chinese government has smartly pushed back while building their core competencies internally.

How I wish India had the chops to be like China. Even a service 80% as good as Amazon is better than being a client state to the Americans and creates home grown skills, competence, jobs and economic and national security but it seems that in some areas the Chinese are already innovating ahead of the Americans.

If it came down to ceding a foreign market or selling out our own destiny and controlling interest in home grown enterprises the choice to me would be easy.

I’d tell everyone to shape up and get ready for a rough ride but we brothers and sisters WE are going to go at it even harder.

This is an economic and national security issue of the highest order and the fact that the Americans are using leverage to abuse their power should make every non american that much more resilient about taking control of their own destiny and sovereignty.

That’s exactly what Xi said at his address last week.(They may say anything to the Americans to appease Trump in the short term but I have no doubt that this is what they will do in terms of policy and action to execute in the long term)

THAT IS a 100 year plan!

Update: Some charts that might lend some context

Edit: On another paradigm this is about Western Values Vs China. State Capitalism Vs the supposed free market, democracy vs the single party communist regime. Perhaps in some of those areas it may be beneficial to the Chinese citizens to introspect on that. The US argument is that the expansion of the chinese system and values is not good for the future of the world and it’s citizens.

2nd Edit: The world needs global neutral systems that are open, apolitical, not controlled by one or two superpowers. Something that will scale to 195 countries and 8 billion people. Something that gives power individually to the 8 billion people of the world than to a few hundred people who act as a proxy to represent them or a few hundred million people of those nations or states.

Something that is more decentralized rather than centralized in the hands of a few powerful people.

This is the way forward. Being deplatformed or even opening up risk to being deplatformed are not wise not for China and not for any of the 194 other countries or their citizens.

China has been surrendering since probably 70’s & it’s economy was in verge of collapsing since then, by then, I wasn’t even born.

Now I am 24, still china is surrendering, still its economy is on verge of collapsing, my mom often irritates me with marriage talks. So i sm thinking, next time my mom talks about marriage, i will give the condition that I will marry the day Chinese economy will collapse ( jedi thing going on 😀 )

Jokes aside , China anticipated west’s move very well, yes, they didn’t create a welfare state, instead opted for capitalism investing ruthlessly in infrastructures.

West mechanism of strangling any one economically who challenges their global order is well known, China took full advantage of their cheap labour to set up concrete home grown economic base , west can’t do a damn thing about it.

I see many of my people gives example of nadela, pichai . Dude , chill.

Country like China, Japan, korea never send their top class brains to other countries . It is us who filters out a few top brains we have left, send them outside & feel proud for them sitting here on our arse. Before you start comparing, know whom you are comparing to whom. We are not even in the game, let alone playing it.

I hope our dumb people will soon realise what is west’s agenda behind vehemently preaching freedom & democracy and will stop being west’s client state. Screaming nationalistic slogans from top of lunge doesn’t make anyone patriot.

As an Indian, I will say from bottom of heart, kudos to China. They are the only one who can break west hegemony on global politics & economy.
